That a side, I really dont mind this at all. Like Eliza having a fear of becoming like her father make scent to me and looking at this place , it make scent she have to deal with that part of her self at some point. Best time to do it. As for cutting off the arm. As Cotten from RageGamingvideos once said “Dont need it. Dont need the arm.”

Also, I think you might have cut off at “The swollen limb”, toward the end of the third paragraph.
Got to cut out the diseased limb it seems
