I wonder if he intentionally aged his appearance in order to be taken seriously. This all goes down to ego, in many ways he’s no better than Lloyd. Everything he has ever done was in service to his ego, Isaiah was just more professional about it. Isaiah doesn’t just want praise and recognition as Llyod does. What Isaiah wants is to be considered an equal to the head of the guild and superior to those underneath him. That’s why he has the moniker of professor and appears as someone far older than he really is.
The only break in this reasoning is that his appearance seems to be due to his control freak tendencies. He has poured so much of himself into the Boundman that its like Sauron with the one Ring but closer. Otherwise you wouldn’t need to defeat the both of them at once. Its still the same sort of playbook. Akina needs to distract and weaken Isaiah so that Melissa can take down the Boundman.
