Huh didn’t expect that. I vote 2 cause it seems like something Mary would do to bring out the worst in her daughter,
I never read the original version of this, and I don’t know how much these renewed lines even CAN change (like, is the only reason the Unicorn Trial is so very different because that one bitter loser of a Lorecrafter buffed up his new Boundman?), so I don’t know whether she’d want to complain about living a lie that made her miserable, or to try make herself feel more normal by trying to prove and see if her daughter inherited her murderous lunacy? I could go either way.
