Really like this page do to Gavin going over what was happening to Roya. I like how the first guess was the easy one but it did not feel right to Gavin. So he just keep going down the list. I really like what it said about Halfling being a half of two separate species. I think that is a fitting thing for a race call HALFlings.
you could try something close, like “Bobbit” (kudos to anyone who gets which video game that reference is from).
It’s also a reference to a woman who cut off.. you know. And the animal named for her.
