The problem with Isaiah’s thinking is that this isn’t his story. He’s the antagonist and no matter what he thinks. Isaiah is doing what a lot of people do with self insert characters. But unlike them who are stuck with their fan fiction, Isaiah is trying to make that fan fiction canon through shear ego. What we have here is an egotistical man living in delusion.
